A New Dawn
In the frosty chill of this past January, I embarked on a significant journey. A journey that involved a departure from my well-trodden paths and a step into a brave new world. Yes, you guessed it right! I made the switch from iCal to Google Calendar. It may seem like an insignificant change to some, but for someone who has clung to iCal and paper planners with a determination that rivals my grip on the last cupcake at a party, it was monumental.
Armed with the Navy Seal mantra, "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast," I prepared myself for this transition. The mission was clear: I needed to find a way to streamline my schedule, which was expanding and contracting with the unpredictable ebb and flow of after school activities, multiple doctors appointments, and life in general.
Let me be honest: I've given Google Calendar a try, not once, but twice before, and both times I found myself retreating back to the familiar (and simple) territory of iCal. The Google Calendar of yesteryears was cumbersome, not very user-friendly, and it lacked the finesse I needed to manage my time effectively. It was like navigating a crowded grocery store without a list—confusing and, quite frankly, a little overwhelming. But those days, it seems, are firmly in the past.
