Christmas, the season of joy, warmth, and sometimes, unexpected revelations.
I've always believed in the power of conversation—not just the idle chit-chat that fills the air during a family dinner but the deep, soul-stirring kind that can only emerge from genuine curiosity. So, naturally, I love it when I can get people to talk about themselves. Not in a superficial way, but delving into the little bits that make them uniquely themselves. It's like flipping on a switch. Suddenly, they light up like a stage, animated and vibrant, sharing the fragments of their lives that matter most. The projects that have consumed their time and passion, the people they hold dear, the dreams that keep them awake at night—it's all laid bare.
Armed with a couple of questions, a few Christmases ago, I embarked on what I thought would be a journey into friend’s heart and mind during a rare catch-up. My aim? To uncover what they were most proud of. I anticipated stories of triumph, perhaps a reflection on a challenging project at work or volunteer efforts, anything that would give me a glimpse into the values she held dear.
